For this month's Powering Our Mission blog we will be getting to know Ambassador and Power Coach Chris Moore. Chris has been a member of SAU1 staff since 2018. Chris lives in Montgomery County Pennsylvania.
Chris is an Ambassador and Power Coach, and also serves as SAU1’s SAPNA liaison. He serves as a member of the
TARP (Technical Assistance for Real Participation) project and is a liaison for Community of Practice and other groups SAU1 works with. Through his involvement with several of our projects, Chris has not only gained work experience, but also has learned the importance of advocacy.
He says, “I was intrigued by the things that could actually relate to my experience and needs.”
Chris has used his own lived experience to help advocate for others in the disability community. Chris likes to use his power to help educate others. When asked about his favorite part of working for SAU1 Chris said, “I like to inform and educate people and families about the different opportunities and services the disability community has to offer.”
From all of us here at SAU1, thank you, Chris, for using your power to speak up for others. We appreciate what you do for us and that you share your power with us!
You can read Chris' full bio on our website. If you have questions about the projects mentioned in this post, find out more on our website by clicking on the links under How We Use Our Power!
