Ambassador, Power Coach
Hi, my name is Chris Moore.
I live in Montgomery County and I am a Power Coach, Ambassador, and SAPNA Liaison for SAU1. I am also part of the Technical Assistance for Real Participation (TARP) project and a liaison for Community of Practice and other groups SAU1 works with. I started in 2018.
It is important to me to be a self advocate because I want to make sure that services are right for me so that I can have the things I need to achieve my life goals.
I started at SAU1 to try to gain work experience and have something to fill my day. But as I went along, I was intrigued by the things that could actually relate to my experience and needs.
My favorite thing about SAU1 is that I like to inform and educate people and families about the different opportunities and services the disability community has to offer. Other than the things I already do for SAU1, I hope to attend and work as many events and opportunities as possible.
In my life outside of SAU1, I volunteer as an administrative assistant and like to watch sports.
I am close to graduating with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
My vision for my everyday life is to become an accountant full time and be able to afford and live in my own home independently.
My favorite food is pizza.
