The words together we reach more are spelled out horizontally, a letter from each word coming together to spell out the word team vertically. Under the word team is the word volunteer. To the right of these words is the Self Advocates United as 1 logo. The Self Advocates United as 1 Logo has our name and initials. It includes outlines of people in different colors, one using a wheelchair and two walking, to reflect SAU1’s diversity. There is an outline of Pennsylvania and sunrise colors.

Together We Reach More through Team Volunteer

Team Volunteer (TeamV) was a project of  Self Advocates United as 1 (SAU1) powered by a grant from the Pennsylvania Developmental Disabilities Council (PADDC). It was from July 2017 to September 2020.

TeamV staff used their power to:

  •  Talk with people with disabilities about their interests
  •  Help folks learn what volunteering is, and what is available to volunteers
  •  Talk to places that use volunteers about the value of people with disabilities as volunteers
  •  Connect people with disabilities with volunteer opportunities
  •  Provide technical assistance to organizations to help them better include people with disabilities.

TeamV started in Crawford and Venango Counties in PA, added Mercer County in its third year, and moved to virtual events due to Covid-19.
