This month for the Powering Our Mission blog, we will get to know Ambassador/Power Coach William Brewer. William does presentations for SAU1 all over Pennsylvania but resides in Delaware County.
When asked why SAU1 and self advocacy are so important, William said, "It is better for everyone when they can say yes or no to what they want. In 2018, I was going to work at a program for a few hours a week. In 2019, I chose to go to Utility Works. Utility Works is a shared art studio in Lansdowne. Now I go 3 days a week and I have my own studio. I wanted this so I said YES!”
Through William’s presentations for SAU1, he teaches others in the disability community about topics like LifeCourse and Everyday Lives. William believes that, “Knowledge is power” and says, “I hope I can give power to people like me and help them follow their dreams like me.”
We want to take this time to thank William for being part of SAU1's power. Thank you, William, for sharing your power and your voice with us!
