After devoting 4 years as President of the Board of SAU1, Laura Bale stepped down at the end of August 2021 because she moved out of state. She continues to serve as an invaluable SAU1 advisor.

When did you start with SAU1?
Over 10 years ago when it was the Partnership and we were working with Vision. 2009.
Why was it important to you, or why did you want to be part of SAU1?
Because I wanted to help tell the community what’s going on within the disability services system and speak up for the rights of people with disabilities.
In your time as president, what things as SAU1 done that you are most proud of?
That we got projects from the Developmental Disabilities Council and the Office of Developmental Programs. The different projects and events that SAU1 was able to present. And having people with disabilities say what their thoughts are for the community and What they want in everyday life.
What do you like best about being part of SAU1?
I like being part of a team of people working together to make a better world for people with developmental disabilities and I enjoyed the people I worked with.

I really appreciated being a part of this wonderful group of people.
