Board Treasurer
Hi, my name is Mike Bomberger.
I live in Lancaster County and I am a member of SAU1’s Board of Directors. I started in January 2020.
I also work self advocacy through Quaker Meeting for peace and social concerns.
I met Oscar Drummond, Gabriel Smaglik, and Sharon Harper-Young at government meetings. I learned from them how to be a self advocate. I became part of SAU1 because there is a connection between the people who are part of SAU1. My favorite thing about SAU1 is getting to meet and talk to different self advocates. I hope I can make a connection with advocates and support networks.
In my life outside of SAU1, I play the viola as part of a string quartet. I have been involved in music for over 45 years. I also support Quaker Meeting committee meetings. Social concerns and peace work are important to me.
High school was difficult for me. I went to the midwest to live with my sister. I started at college in 1990 at Millersville where I got a degree in English and philosophy. Experience also teaches you a lot.
My vision for my everyday life is to have peace at home and to work the best I can.
My favorite foods are fruits and vegetables, legumes and beans.
