Board Advisor
Hi, my name is Carolyn Morgan. I live in Philadelphia county and I am an advisor to SAU1’s Board of directors. I was a founder of SAU1 and I served as vice president for 9 and have continued as advisor since.
It is important to me to be a self advocate because I want to help others understand.
I became part of SAU1 because I wanted to be part of a program to help myself and other people.
My favorite thing about SAU1 is helping myself and others learn about their rights. As part of SAU1 I hope I can eventually open my own program.
In my life outside of SAU1 I enjoy shopping, watching TV and playing games on my tablet.
I attended school but did not graduate.
I am the only person with a disability to receive an award from the United States Department of Justice (as far as I know). I received the award because I used my experience as a survivor of a crime as way to teach others with disabilities how not to be a victim of crime.

My vision for everyday life is to see people make their own decisions whether they are institutionalized or not.
I don’t have or want any pets.
My favorite food is chicken.
