Today! Ribbon Cutting for New Sprayground at 48th and Woodland - July 9th at 3:30pm. This Philadelphia Parks and Recreation sprayground was designed with the disability community in mind, with many sensory friendly elements including a giant shade canopy! This event will take place rain or shine! Download the flyer to learn more.
Philadelphia Parks and Recreation: Sensory Friendly Swim Hours - This is an open swim time with a quiet, less-crowded environment held at six different Philadelphia pools. This swim time is set aside for those with autism and neurodivergence and their families. You are encouraged to pre-register for this event. PEAL Center Events
FRIL Virtual Community Kick-Off - July 17th at 12pm. Join Families Reimagining Inclusive Lives (FRIL) to discuss what their virtual community can look like. This event is for Pennsylvania parents of young children with disabilities and young adults with disabilities who have a passion for inclusion. Register here.
Please Touch Museum: Play Without Boundaries - July 21st, from 9:00 - 11:00am. For this special event series, the Museum is closed to the general public and is adapted to provide a relaxed environment for individuals with autism, learning disabilities, and other sensory or communication needs. Back to School Bus Tour - This year the bus tour will visit 7 neighborhoods across the City beginning on July 29th, see the flyer for the event dates and locations. This celebration will help students and families prepare for the new school year with free backpacks and school supplies (while supplies last), free immunizations and school physicals, snacks and frozen treats, educational activities, student registration, fun games, raffles, prizes and more.
Main Line Art Center’s Residency for Artists with Disabilities - This opportunity provides local, emerging artists with space to work, mentorship, resources to create original artwork, and a public space to exhibit their artwork. Residents work with a Teaching Artist Mentor to target artistic goals and have the opportunity to be a guest artist. Residents will also create a piece of art for the Center’s permanent collection at the culmination of their residency. Learn more here or Apply today! Applications Due: August 2, 2024.
Save the Date! The 2024 Seed Award Launch Event will take place on Thursday, August 15th, at CBH, 801 Market Street. This is an opportunity to learn more about this year’s community grant recipients and a space to connect with others. More details to come and will also be shared on the PhillyAP Webpage.

Community Mobility and Participation of Autistic Adults Study (COMPAAS) - The AJ Drexel Autism Institute is seeking autistic adults who live in the Philadelphia area to help researchers learn about how often people leave their homes, the amount of time they spend in the community, the places they go, and other factors associated with community participation. You will participate in the study for about three weeks and receive compensation for your time. Learn more here.
