Administrative Coordinator

Hi, my name is Rita Valentine, just like the holiday.

I live in Crawford County and I am the Administrative Coordinator for SAU1.

I started in December of 2019.

It’s important to me to be a self advocate because I know what is best for me, and I don’t want other people making decisions for me.

I started at SAU1 because I was out of a job. I also wanted to make a difference in the world. I wanted to work for a place that builds people up, not knocks them down! My favorite thing about SAU1 is the encouragement everyone gives to each other. It is priceless!

I hope to help SAU1 make the world a better place for everyone.

In my life outside of SAU1, I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes. I love to sing and be a part of my church’s choir. I have a master’s degree in library science that I earned online. I also have a bachelor's degree in business and economics. I love to do research!

My vision for my everyday life is to make each day important and make it count.

I don’t have any pets myself. I do have a neph-dog, Jack the Beagle, and three neph-cats - Salem, Bandit, and Galaxy. I am an Aunt to three nephews and two nieces, and two grand nieces. I dearly love them all.

My favorite meal is a one pot wonder of ham, green beans, and potatoes. Yum! Anytime my family or friends get together and share a meal - that is my favorite food.
