Urgent Action Needed: Regulations That Ensure Buildings Are Accessible Are At Risk

June 12, 2025 | by sau1admin

Did you know, accessible buildings are at risk? The federal government is trying to quietly change the rules under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act so that builders would not have to follow accessibility rules for buildings built or changed with federal money.

Check out the information from our friends at Disability Belongs to find out more about what's happening, why it matters, and, and how you can speak up! Public comments are due by June 15th. If you need help writing your comment you can find a template on the Disability Belongs page at the link above that you can personalize before you submit your comment, along with instructions how to submit your comment.
