Board President

Hi, My name is Alexa Brill!

I live in Cumberland County and I am President of SAU1's Board of Directors.

I started in 2019.

It is important to me to be a self advocate because I can empower myself and others with disabilities to make their needs and wants known and to have a voice just like everyone else. This is why I became part of SAU1 and what I hope I can continue to do as part of SAU1.

My favorite thing about SAU1 is that the staff and board members are genuinely passionate about making sure that self advocates’ voices are heard; and not only heard, but their wishes and ideas carried out the best way possible.

In my life outside of SAU1, I enjoy working as a social media and website manager for the Arc of Pennsylvania. I also enjoy watching movies, listening to music, reading, hanging out with my best friend Charlene, my Goddaughter Lydia, my sister Lauren, my parents, and my Cocker Spaniel, Chloe.

I graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 2013.

My vision for my everyday life is to be as independent as possible and to help other people with disabilities do the same.

I have a dog named Chloe. She is a Cocker Spaniel. I like that she sleeps in my bed.

My favorite foods are tacos, potatoes, and ice cream.
