Coordinator
Hi, my name is Caitlyn Pingatore.
I live in Blair County and I am a Coordinator for SAU1.
I started in May 2020.
It is important to me to be a self advocate because it is important to get what you want and need in life to be happy and to live a meaningful life. Self advocacy can help people reach their goals and empower others to do the same.
I became part of SAU1 because I supported someone I am close with who works for SAU1 and it inspired me to do more. I want to make a difference in people’s lives all across the state in a bigger way than I have through other work I’ve done.
My favorite thing about SAU1 is the family feeling. I love the sense of community and togetherness SAU1 has. Everyone is welcoming and kind. It’s like having a second family who is there for you no matter what. I hope to help SAU1 support others so that their voices are heard. I dream of everyone having the life they want and that they find the power and their voice to be self advocates along the way.
In my life outside of SAU1, my favorite hobby is hiking. I love visiting new state or national parks and finding new trails. I also enjoy reading, gardening and taking care of my collection of house plants.
I have a bachelor’s degree from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA. I studied wildlife conservation and educational studies.
My vision for my everyday life is to buy land so I can build my dream home and start a family someday. I also want to be able to travel a lot and explore new places.
I have 3 cats! They are named Aslan, Rhea, and Gru. One of my favorite things about them is the way they all come running to greet me when I get home and come through the door. They are also very cuddly and loving.
My favorite food is potatoes! French fries, chips, mashed potatoes, anything made out of potatoes.
