PA ABLE Savings Program Webinars
Individuals and Families and All Interested Parties
To inform individuals that ODP is teaming with the PA Treasury Department to host two informational webinars about the new PA ABLE savings program, at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017.
The Pennsylvania ABLE Savings Program, administered by the Pennsylvania Treasury Department, is a new, low-cost saving program that allows people with disabilities and their families to have greater control of their finances and to plan for a more financially secure future.
A PA ABLE account helps people to save for a wide range of expenses without jeopardizing government benefits.* Plus, savings benefit from several tax advantages, including tax-free growth when used for a wide range of qualified disability expenses.
PA ABLE accounts can be used for day-to-day expenses, as well as any large or long-term savings goals. They can also be part of parents’ planning for the financial security of their adult children with disabilities for the time when the parents may no longer be able to provide financial support or care.
These 45-to-60-minute webinars will be focused on the needs and questions of individuals and families with intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or autism.
Topics will include:
- Eligibility requirements for opening a PA ABLE Savings Program
- The federal and state tax benefits of PA ABLE
- How an ABLE account interacts with current benefits
- How to open an ABLE account.
Attendees can ask questions, which will be answered during the webinar if time permits or afterward via email.
Afterward, the webinars will be posted on MyODP.org.
